Agree but does our strongest team contain players who are in need of a rest? I think it does just now. Mainly Mascherano and Kuyt.

And different games call for different players. 'Horses for courses' and all that. This would deffo be a game I'd think about playing Hyypia for the aerial threat they will pose.

I'm all for playing our 'strongest team' but it's never as simple as that.

The sort of game we failed to kill off last season, lets hope thats not the case and the good stuff from the last two performances (not to mention the results) lifts the rest.

i agree we need strongest team, but also agree that some players need to be rested, strongets team as mentioned before is not just with the bug names, but a team that would stretch the oponnets!!! id play with 2 wingers against stoke rest kuyt, mayb stevie and xabi and rest masch, but cant see that as u need masch at home to stop counter attacks

Liverpool need to treat this game with due care and ensure the result against the Mancs is a platform for a good run of league form.  Stoke will be highly motivated so don't need to be encouraged to get into the game by getting sustained possession or creating chances.  If Liverpool perform well they should have far too much for Stoke to handle.

If we dont take 3 points of these then the UTD win is almost pointless. I dont think Benitez can afford to rest players. Torres needs to get up to match fitness and Keane needs to bag a goal.  This is the perfect game because on paper it should be shooting practice.

Get a strong team out, beat these  convincingly, go top and show the competition that we are going to have a go this season.
