Don't know why some of you are so pleased by it - it's got fuck all to do with solidarity with the working class supporters of Liverpool FC. That cunt's probably been buying it all through the labour years and would have continued to do so if the paper hadn't withdrawn it's support for Gordon Brown yesterday.

I never really read THE SUN in the first place and after the Arthur Scargill/Hitler bit during the miners' strike and then the Wapping dispute I never even touched it. Wapping effectively shattered any organisation the print workers ever had. Bit of history, you know? I would have hoped that resonated a bit on working-class Merseyside.

But it took Hillsborough to finish it, because it became up close and personal.

Woodley has done a great thing. "New" Labour have been up Murdoch's arse for so long, but the chancer is never going to back what he considers a loser. So Woodley tears it up on stage. Good. And he alludes to his Liverpool roots and the attitude here. Good. So stop being so fucking parochial and take it as a positive.

I have always felt that when you see someone reading it you should ask why to begin with, then explain the situation to them, speshly some of the younger "internet" generation who for whatever reason are not up to speed.

Had a good yarn to this Italian on the overnight Milan-Rome train on Wednesday about Heysel and Hillsborough.  He has seen the stickers at a few Italian grounds which was nice to know.  Top bloke, one of the types who just loves his football.  thumbs_up

Wanted to share my respect of an evertonian

one of my teachers at school is a big everton fan, and as part of our curriculum at school we learn about the press and government etc...
Anyway when we did about the press he told us all how he never buys or readsthe sun and why...what they lied about.

I gained real respect for him that day. Nice one sir!

It should never be sold on Merseyside again. I know one United fan who does not buy it and objects to it as a football fan. it's rare but it does happen. No self respecting football fan should ever touch that rag

A CALDERDALE Council employee was in court after drenching £40 of newspapers in water.

David Shearer, 31, of New Lane, Siddal, Halifax, twice poured water over copies of The Sun at Asda, Thrum Hall Lane, Pellon.

Shearer, who represented himself at Calderdale Magistrates Court said: "I want people to understand why I did it.

"I lost family at the Hillsborough disaster and the newspaper wrote terrible lies about it.

"It wasn't pre-meditated. I just saw the papers and lost control."

Shearer first doused the papers on April 11 and again on April 15 – the 20th anniversary of the disaster.

Shearer said many newsagents in Liverpool no longer stock the newspaper because of this and that he later telephoned the store to apologise. He must pay £43.20 for the damage and £40 costs.

Some may have seen the comments by a certain twat who i thought was my friend, on my facebook picture of the sun on fire.

Deleted all the comments and the picture, spoke to him on the chat thing and well and truly put the twat in his place.

Really pissed me off and genuinly upset me, one of his comments were just fucking sickening.

That's fair enough if he didn't know like.... But really you would expect a Sheffield fan to know about it.

Well in for educating him though, alot of people over here don't know about it so I do my bit filling them in.... except for this one twat (a manc)....I can't even remember how the subject came up but I says to him:

me: "You know I don't read the Sun right?"

him: "No...?"

me: "Oh I thought you'd know, there's a boycott in Liverpool because - "

him: "My dad reads it!".....(His dad is a manc that lives in Southport)

me: "I'm sure he does roll_eyes"

him: "Go on then why don't you read it?"

me: "I don't really want to talk about it with you to be honest"

him: "Why not is it **sarcastic tone** "hurtful to your feeeelings"?"

....I just shook my head and walked away before I lost my head with him. People who don't know about it no problem I'll tell them about it and hopefully it will be one less customer for the rag but it's people like that who take the piss I've no time for.
