All the work ive done this week andthe times I have slept in for main events, like the Limo to cardiff, paid the £50 and woke up at half twelve pm instead of half 5 am. two alarm clocks and mobile switched on this time.

I've just read some reviews of the hotel. I've cut and pasted some of the comments here for you....

"Breakfast was good in the morning, nothing fancy, just a good Scotish breakfast. The adjoinig bar was very upscale and we had a good time enjoying their DJ as well as their beer. I would definitley recommend this hotel to anyone."

"The hotel is abit 10 mins walk uphill to the Royal Mile and on the way you pass a couple of lapdancing clubs and there is a sex shop pretty much opposite the hotel but having said that it wasn't really an issue."

"Breakfast was good, buffet style although there were extras you could order for a small charge. The fact that breakfast is available until 11:00 is a great bonus, as a lot of hotels stop serving it at 10:00."

"Location-wise, the hotel is in what appears to be a red-light district - there were sex shops and lap dancing clubs more or less next door - but that didn't bother us in the slightest. It's very close to the Castle and not too far to walk to Princes Street."

"Have just returned from a weekend in Edinburgh staying at The Point Hotel. We were a party of 5 ranging in ages from 21 to 70! From the moment we arrived we were amazed how friendly and helpful all the staff were from reception to bar staff. Our rooms had a castle view which was lovely and were very clean and comfortable (especially the beds!). The Power shower has to be experienced. We ate in the restaurant one night and the food was fabulous and waiting staff excellent. Breakfast was realy good both mornings. All in all a wonderful stay here and will deffinately go back."

They were all comments from different people and are recent so it looks like we should be ok. Well done to philo for sorting us out-nice one mate  :tu
