Fairly sad circs having to search through this thread again to see what the memorial looked like in all it's glory before the accidental damage to it but I'm bumping it to remind myself and everybody else who went of what a brilliant weekend we had. What I would love for the summer would be for an official double OTK trip to see the Shankly memorial one day staying in Edinburgh and then as we're coming back down go the Paisley memorial and staying in Hetton at the Chiltern that night. Would be really brilliant that. With the number of sound (mostly young) members we've gathered since the initial Shankly memorial trip I reckon we could take a coachload or at least two mini busses this time. If anybody is really DEFINITELY interested please register that interest in this thread initially and then I might open up a separate thread for it.

Been thinking about Glenbuck Mark 2 since Kyle P mentioned it Pete.  Bear in mind that the Liddell memorial should be going up soon and it isn't very far from Edinburgh.

Heading west on the way home it might be worth a quick visit to see Emlyn Hughes' statue in Barrow. Set in a fairly incongruous place next to Barrow Council offices it is nevertheless a pretty impressive statue. Would have been better if it depicted him as a Liverpool player rather than England though.  Good shout on Billy too Ian.

We called in to see the monument on our way to the 1st Celtic Uefa cup game.
It was pissing down but we got out the car to view and take a few pics!
There was a couple stood under a brolly just to the left, as we approached the lady asked if we where the Liverpool supporters club?
We said no, but we are Liverpool fans on our way to the game, we had our shankly socialist shirts on! Oh i can see that she said.
I'm one of Bills niece's and this his nephew.
I cant recall their names one because am crap at remembering names, and two as I went into Lar Lar land, Bills Shankly's nephew got in our car and gave us a guided tour of whats left of Glenbuck, this is Bill old school, this is where the cherrypickers played.
We where just over joyed, made our day.
