Dingwell is about an hour from Aberdeen on the train so Easyjet up it is.

Ross county is a 3 to 4  hour drive from glenbuck so that would possibly be ruled out for this trip.

Or if it has to be a big town/city to stay what about Edinburgh?

I'm liking that idea Pete, or what about Ayr, the heart of Burns country?

Do you mean Tobermory, where Balamory is filmed?  If so it's four and a half hours drive further north from Glenbuck, plus a ferry.

That would be sound Philo and it looks like this trip is gaining interest so what size minibus can you get?  Bev can only drive up to 8 passengers on her licence and we'll need someone to share the driving.

Murph said something about asking the priest about transport too but hasn't come back yet.

me mates arl fella was the one who organised the trip to go up there and put the memorial up years ago. they played an exhibition game of footy too.

For dates, how about September 2nd (his birthday) or 29th (anniversary of his death) ?  Should still be nice and sunny then too.  Chip in for something to place on his memorial?

Just got back from Glasgow, no youse talking, I am laddered, great place, Bairds and kisses fantastic, got a great repeort but also sad, Hillsborough related.

The Jock in work was not muc huse really. He is originally from Edinburgh so he said he could only recommend there or Glasgow. He say Kilmarnock isn't bad but it's a bit of a twat getting back onto the motorway. If it's a stopover (presume it will be) then he said it was best in one of the big two.
There are a few small village type places around with some boozers but he's not sure what they are like. He did say to steer clear of Ayr though cos it's  a shithole apparently.

Ok Amy, how are you doing? What I reckon we do is wait till all the semi final stuff has eased off a little, then I'll bump this and see if theres any appetite for it. I don't know if anyone else is the same as me, but I just can't get the final out of my mind now!
